At the beginning of the new academic year, MacChocolate™ (Food Empire Holdings Ltd) announced it was launching the "Program for Supporting Computer Training in Secondary Schools". As early as 7 November 2006, the first "top performer" will be rewarded - "Erudite" Kyiv school. By way of support, the school will receive 10 ACER 1652 laptops, a projector and a interactive board.
Food Empire is certain that weak technical and technological facilities, including a lack of computers at Ukrainian educational institutions, including secondary schools, can interfere with Ukraine's normal participation in many economic and cultural international processes.
A high commission that included Food Empire representatives, in particular, Company Director Mr. Tan and Mr. Alexander Gorin, the former Ambassador to Singapore, selected "Erudite" out of an impressive list of candidates. The school was recognized as the best by three criteria at once: initiative of the management, students' performance, and implementation of international educational standards.
"Erudite" is one of the few educational institutions where the students start studying computer basics from the fifth grade. Besides, the school curriculum includes advanced courses of English, German and French. Practically every sixth student of "Erudite" school has won at district and city school contests.
